The 2006 season came to a close. Denver Brewers assistant manager/pitcher Chris Zuniga assembled with a few players from the Brewers organization to discuss his plan to form a new team in 2007.
The team was formed and introduced into the 2007 league as the Colorado Redhawks.
During the pre season the Redhawks acquired some talented players through the player draft and the NABA League.
2007 turned out to be a successful and progressive season for the Colorado Redhawks.
The Colorado Redhawks entered the league into the single A division. Everyone on the squad resonated immediately. It was no secret in the league that the Redhawks were not just another rookie team. The Redhawks proved they were a team with a powerful offense and a well groomed defense.
After a hard fought 2007 season it all came down to the final game against the Denver Bad News Bears. The Bears beat the Redhawks twice during the regular season and quickly became the Redhawks nemesis.
The final game would determine which team would earn the final position into the Double A divisional playoffs. Chris Zuniga took the bump and muscled out 13 K's and with the help of his strong offense led the Redhawks to a 15 - 2 win over the Bears.
The Colorado Redhawks finished the 2007 season at .500 and have now established themselves as a well seasoned team in their Double A division.
